DETECTING COVID-19 THROUGH WASTEWATER

Illinois Department of Public Health will partner with the Discovery Partners Institute (DPI) in a $5.5M program across 10 counties across the state of Illinois.

The program seeks to utilize wastewater analysis as a tool for early detection of COVID-19 outbreaks. This program is in partnership with the University of Illinois Chicago, the institution testing the samples collected from the communities tested in the initial launch of the program.
