The Illinois Water Resources Center (IWRC), in partnership with the Cancer Center at Illinois (CCIL), requests proposals to fund exploratory research or educational projects to drive a new initiative: Emerging Frontiers in the Water-Cancer Nexus. This is an open call contingent on funding availability. Read the full call for proposals here for complete instructions on how to apply.
To adequately prepare for the review process, submission of a Notification of Intent (NOI) by Tuesday, February 17th, 2026 is encouraged. The NOI will be used by the IWRC to improve the review process for full applications. The NOI will not be used for application selection purposes, and submission of an NOI does not commit an applicant to completing a full submission. Submit your NOI here.
The full proposal must be submitted by Monday, March 2nd, 2026. You can read the Proposal Checklist for guidance on what information is required. A budget breakdown and justification are required for the proposal submission; there is a Budget Template1 and a Budget Justification Template available to guide you. Submit your full proposal here and upload the proposal as a single PDF with a file name that includes the PI’s last name.
