Illinois Water Conference

The Illinois Water Conference brings together researchers, agency personnel, and students from across the state to discuss the latest research on issues affecting Illinois water resources and systems. Past conferences have featured presentations on aquatic invasive species, climate change impacts, emerging contaminants, monitoring, and water supply planning.

In addition to plenary and technical sessions, the biennial conference includes a student poster session for undergraduate and graduate researchers to present their projects and discuss their results with conference participants. Pre-conference tours, career panel discussions, and networking events also provide student attendees with opportunities to learn more about careers in engineering, biology, planning, and public outreach.

The conference is hosted by the Illinois Water Resources Center and held at the Illini Union on the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus.

While 2018 would normally be an Illinois Water Conference year, we are unable to host the event at this time. Because we are still dedicated to fostering the water community in Illinois, we are instead hosting a “Groundwater & Geothermal Resources Seminar Series,” which is free and open to the public.¬†Further, if you have thoughts, ideas, or want our support in a water event your organization is hosting, please don’t hesitate to contact our staff.
